Upon graduation from Sweet Briar College in 2006, Candice entered the field of Veterinary Medicine and hasn’t looked back! Candice has been a part of the Fork Union Animal Clinic team since 2010. As the Hospital Manager she has combined her passion for business management and her love of veterinary medicine. You will find Candice in all areas of the hospital. When she’s not working she enjoys foxhunting, kayaking and spending time with her family.
Our support staff consists of caring, compassionate animal lovers. Although some come from different animal backgrounds, their dedication to Fork Union Animal Clinic and the patients and clients is obvious from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave.
Licenced Veterinary Technicians
Cecilia joined our team in 2012. She brought with her many years of animal care experience, both in veterinary medicine and as a breeder of Irish Wolfhounds and Silken Windhounds. She can be found in all areas of the hospital and is a wonderful asset to our team! When she’s not working, Cecilia can be found taking care of her show dogs, reading, or traveling to and from dog shows!
Melissa is a Licensed Veterinary Technician who has been with the clinic since 2007. She is a native of Seattle, WA, but moved to this coast to earn her undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina in Asheville. Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband, four cats and a very cantankerous bulldog at their home in Lake Monticello. Melissa is very interested in nutritional counseling for pets, and she is always willing to answer any food question you may throw her way.
LeighAnn joined our team in 2016 and brought with her years of veterinary experience (large animal, laboratory animal and small animal). She loves helping clients and pets and looks forward to greeting you when you arrive. When she’s not working, LeighAnn enjoys cooking and watching her cats cause problems!
Pat is the friendly face you see in the afternoons, and she has been greeting clients since 2007. Pat lives with her dogs Cooper and Casey in her Lake Monticello home where she loves to play golf with friends.
Amanda joined our team in 2017. She is eager to join the veterinary industry and will be helping in all areas of the hospital. When she’s not working she enjoys horror films and spending time with her family.
Amber joined our team in 2015 and is eager to care for your furry family members. Amber is a member of the Volunteer Fire Department and has three furry babies of her own – Daisy, a Labrador Retriever , Isabella, a Jack Russell Terrier and Ruger, a mischievous orange tabby cat.
