Our support staff consists of caring, compassionate animal lovers. Although some come from different animal backgrounds, their dedication to Fork Union Animal Clinic and the patients and clients is obvious from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave.
Upon graduation from Sweet Briar College in 2006, Candice entered the field of Veterinary Medicine and hasn’t looked back! Candice has been a part of the Fork Union Animal Clinic team since 2010. As the Hospital Manager she has combined her passion for business management and her love of veterinary medicine. You will find Candice in all areas of the hospital. When she’s not working she enjoys foxhunting, kayaking and spending time with her family.
Pat is the friendly face you see in the afternoons, and she has been greeting clients since 2007. Pat lives with her dogs Cooper and Casey in her Lake Monticello home where she loves to play golf with friends.
Jessica has been at the front desk since June 2009, and she shares her enthusiasm with all of our clients. She has a special interest in canine behavior and she loves the herding breeds. In her spare time she helps her husband Holland with his family's farm. Together they take care of their cattle and the harvesting of hay and grain. Jessica and Holland share their home with their dog, Macy, and barn cat named Moo.
Melissa is a Licensed Veterinary Technician who has been with the clinic since 2007. She is a native of Seattle, WA, but moved to this coast to earn her undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina in Asheville. Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband, four cats and a very cantankerous bulldog at their home in Lake Monticello. Melissa is very interested in nutritional counseling for pets, and she is always willing to answer any food question you may throw her way.
Cecilia joined our team in 2012. She brought with her many years of animal care experience, both in veterinary medicine and as a breeder of Irish Wolfhounds and Silken Windhounds. She can be found in all areas of the hospital and is a wonderful asset to our team! When she’s not working, Cecilia can be found taking care of her show dogs, reading, or traveling to and from dog shows!
Taylor grew up in Fluvanna and is a graduate of Baylor University in Texas. Upon graduation Taylor moved back to Virginia and joined our team! Taylor is enrolled in Penn Foster’s Veterinary Technology Program is working toward becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Taylor enjoys all aspects of patient care, but has a special interest in laboratory diagnostics and radiology. In her free time Taylor can be found with her adorable Corgi mix Ranger Theodore or riding in the Hunter Show Ring!
Kate moved to Virginia from Arizona in 2014 and joined our team soon thereafter. She can be found in all areas of our hospital and looks forward to helping you and your pets each and every day! When she’s not working at the clinic, Kate stays busy on her farm taking care of goats, chickens, horses, and dogs
Amber joined our team in late 2015 and is eager to learn about all aspects of veterinary medicine. She can be found caring for our boarding patients. Amber is a member of the Volunteer Fire Department and has two furry babies of her own – Daisy, a Labrador Retriever and Isabella, a Jack Russell Terrier.
Whitney joined our team in late 2015, bringing with her experience in shelter animal medicine and a life long love of all animals. She is interested in becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician and will start classes soon! Whitney enjoys spending time with her family.
She joined our team in mid-2016 and can be found taking care of our boarding patients. Her positive energy and contagious smile is a wonderful addition to our team! When she’s not working, Kinzie enjoys spending time with her family and her many animals!
